    correct answer
C Increased risk of incomplete myotomy

Multiple studies have compared outcomes for laparoscopic versus open pyloromyotomy. The results are variable and inconsistent. In a recent Cochrane Review, laparoscopic pyloromyotomy was found to be possibly associated with a small increased rate of incomplete myotomy and mucosal perforation. Another systematic review showed similar trends. Operative time is almost identical for laparoscopic and open pyloromyotomy. The effect on surgical site infection is uncertain.
