Girls with mayer-Rokitansky-Kuster-Hauser’s syndrome often present with primary amenorrhoea because of congenital absence of the vagina and often uterus. Although this syndrome is associated with renal anomalies, ovarian development is normal. Complete androgen insensitivity syndrome and Swyer’s syndrome are associated with XY karyotype. The classic 45,Xo karyotype of Turner’s syndrome results in bilateral streak ovaries. Hypopituitarism results in abnormal ovarian function and a low oestrogen state.
